The 54th Markneukirchen International Instrumental Competition of 2019

violoncello - guitar

The competition is open to the public.

The competition will take place in Markneukirchen (Vogtland), State of Saxony, Germany from 9 May 2019 to 18 May 2019.

The Markneukirchen International Instrumental Competition is open to young soloists of all nationalities
- in the category violoncello born after 1 January 1989
- in the category guitar born after 1 January 1987.


 

Application procedure for violoncello

The entry form for violoncello shall arrive by 10 January 2019 via the online application form on www.instrumental-competition.de

The remittance shall show (legibly) the participant’s name in capitals even if he/she does not pay in the registration fee personally. The administrative fee will not be repaid under any circumstances. 

The above mentioned documents and sound recordings will not be returned. 

Applications will be confirmed or rejected via E-Mail within 10 days after receipt.

Once the selection has been made, the decision of the pre-selection jury on admission to the competition will be released by 1 March 2019 at the latest. Its decisions are final and incontestable. No explanations will be provided. The chosen competitors will receive written notification of their selection. After this the application fee of 75,00 € must be payed immediately by the chosen competitors, marked “free of charge to the payee”.

CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETITION (cello and guitar)

Complete information concerning the execution of the competition will be sent to the competitors. The competition management has the sole right of decision concerning an applicant’s admission. Applications will be confirmed in writing in the order of their receipt. With the help of this acknowledgement, competitors from abroad can immediately apply for an entry visa if required.

Qualified pianists can be provided free of charge for the competition. Competitors can however  provide their own piano accompaniment at their own expense. The pianist’s name and address  must be noted on the application form. This information is binding.

Living and accommodation costs are to be borne by the participants and accompanists themselves. A number of reasonably-priced private rooms and hotels is available (see application form).

Beginning with the second round, the secretary’s office will pay each participant a daily allowance of 15,00 euros. Contestants can receive cash payment personally in Town Hall during the posted opening hours.


Arrival:

All travel costs are to be borne by the participants and piano accompanists themselves.
Markneukirchen is situated in the state of Saxony. 


Train connections: The nearest railway station is Adorf/Vogtland.
Motorways: A 9 Berlin-Munich, A 72 Hof-Dresden, exit „Plauen Süd“, B 92 in the direction of Bad Brambach, in Adorf B 283 in the direction of Markneukirchen
Airports: Leipzig, Dresden, Nuremberg

Participants and piano accompanists will be collected by the Competition bus shuttle service from the train station of Adorf/Vogtland on the day of arrival (8 May 2019). The shuttle service is provided free of charge to participants and piano accompanists during the competition. More information will be provided upon arrival in Markneukirchen.

Conditions of participation:

Each participant should be prepared to take part in concerts or events which may be organized within the period of competition. Preparation for the competition and the participation in it will not be affected thereby. With their application, all participants enter into an obligation to keep the period of the competition free of all engagements or concerts and to be reachable in Markneukirchen all the time.

The competition organizers are authorized to record, acoustically and optically, all concerts or events within the period of the competition and to use these recordings for publicity purposes. Recordings by third parties require the organizers’ approval.

In particular, the organizers reserve the right to authorize radio and TV stations to record and broadcast all events of the competition. No claims for reimbursement for participants may arise therefrom.

Prizewinners are obliged to perform at the Prizewinners’ Concert without fee.

The organizers cannot accept any responsibility for the competitors’ instruments and personal property.

With his or her enrolment, the participant accepts all conditions of participation including the data protection regulations.
